The luxury price correction

In a high-end luxury vehicle market that has faced stagnation following recent credit tightenings and regional policy changes, smart buyers are looking for value. Depreciating luxury models represent a unique opportunity. We built the “Underpriced Index” using a simple ask-price screen: every active listing is compared against the median asking price for the same make and model (requiring at least 5 comparable active listings). A listing is flagged underpriced when its asking price is more than 25% below that median; only makes with 10 or more such flagged listings are shown. This is a comparative ask-price screen — not a machine-learning model, not a fair-market-value estimate, and not condition-, specification-, or history-aware.

Currently, we track a total of 3,187 underpriced listings, representing 19.6% of the active stock on the AutoBridge platform. The luxury segment is leading the way, with brands like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, BMW, and Audi showing the largest average dollar discount below their expected price.

Where the deepest discounts lie

For buyers with flexible budgets, the high-end luxury segment offers substantial room for negotiation and immediate savings. The top makes by average discount reveal where the market is correcting most aggressively:

Porsche: 59 active deals carry an average discount of -$28,364.61 below the median asking price for comparable Porsche listings. With only 59 flagged listings the comparison pool is thin and statistical noise is higher; apparent discounts may partly reflect salvage or rebuilt titles, damage history, or non-standard specifications rather than genuine market mispricing.

Mercedes-Benz: 248 active listings average a discount of -$18,643.20, making it the second-deepest average discount in the luxury segment and one of the larger pools of nominally underpriced luxury inventory on the platform.

Land Rover: 77 active deals offer an average discount of -$15,803.03. As with other luxury makes, low asking prices relative to the median ask may reflect factors such as high local service costs, past damage, or customs status rather than a straightforward bargain.

BMW: BMW has the highest absolute number of underpriced listings in the luxury segment, with 479 active deals at an average discount of -$15,771.87.

Audi: 96 deals register an average discount of -$13,421.09, providing an entry point into the premium German segment for buyers seeking value below the typical listed price. As with other luxury makes, apparent discounts may reflect damage history, customs status, or specification differences rather than straightforward market mispricing.

Strategic advice for Friday deal-hunters

When hunting for underpriced luxury deals, buyers must understand that a listing priced more than 25% below the median ask is not automatically a bargain. Large apparent discounts in the luxury segment frequently reflect salvage or rebuilt titles, accident damage, non-standard specifications, or statistical noise from thin comparison pools (such as Porsche, where n=59). In Georgia’s export-oriented market, cars are also often priced below market averages due to outstanding customs liabilities or urgent seller liquidity needs.

1. Verify vehicle history: Always run a full VIN decode and check the vehicle’s American or Korean auction history to verify the extent of any prior damage or mileage discrepancies.

2. Check customs status: Confirm whether the vehicle is customs-cleared or uncleared. In Georgia, a car listed as “uncleared” will require additional taxes if registered locally.

3. Calculate landed cost: Factor in the full landed cost if exporting to target markets like Kazakhstan, Armenia, or Russia, as high-displacement engines carry steep excise and shipping rates.
