At $15,000–20,000, Sedan Buyers Get a Newer Model-Year Midpoint Than SUV Buyers
Cleared sedan offers centre on 2019 and about 95,000 km; SUV offers centre on 2018 and 110,000 km within the same budget.
One budget, two different vehicle profiles
In Georgia’s cleared passenger-car offer between $15,000 and $19,999, the two largest stated body groups are 445 SUVs and 313 sedans. They give a buyer substantial choice in both directions.
Their profiles differ. The sedan group has a 2019 median model year; the SUV group centres on 2018. The same price range therefore opens a newer model-year midpoint among sedans.

Mileage also favours the sedan midpoint
The sedan group’s median stated mileage is 94,983 km, approximately 95,000 km. The SUV group’s midpoint is 110,000 km. The difference is about 15,000 km.
That pairing makes the trade-off visible: within the budget, the sedan group is both newer at its model-year midpoint and lower in stated mileage. The buyer choosing an SUV is shopping through a different distribution of age and use.

The separate crossover group is younger still
Another 63 offers are described as crossovers. Their median model year is 2021, with 96,800 km median stated mileage. This is a smaller set than either the SUV or sedan group, but it introduces a further option for the same budget.
A buyer seeking the seating position or layout of a crossover can examine this group alongside SUVs. Comparing the actual models then makes the body label more concrete: dimensions, luggage space and equipment belong to the individual vehicle.

Other body styles use the budget differently
The range also contains 50 coupes, with a 2016 median model year and 113,800 km median stated mileage. 23 minivans centre on 2017 and 188,062 km. 22 pickups centre on 2018 and 129,000 km.
These profiles show how strongly the vehicle’s role changes the choice at one spending level. A coupe, family van or pickup has its own supply mix. The sedan–SUV decision is one part of a broader set of alternatives.
Turn the budget into a usable shortlist
For buyers open to either body type, the sedan group offers a newer year and lower mileage at the midpoint. The SUV group provides more advertisements. The crossover group adds younger-model choices in smaller numbers.
Start with the space and layout the vehicle must provide, then compare model year, service history and condition among the fitting offers. All figures refer to cleared passenger-car asking prices in the 1 November 2026 offer, between $15,000 and $19,999.
