Round Prices Dominate Georgia Listings — and Above $25,000, So Do Whole Thousands

Georgian asking prices are usually round: 97% are multiples of $100, and above $25,000 nearly two in three are whole thousands.

Rounding is the norm, and it deepens with price

Across 15,781 advertised car listings, asking prices are overwhelmingly round numbers, and

the rounder the car, the rounder the number:

In the budget band 80.8% of listings are multiples of $100, with examples such as

$7,350 and $6,750 in the observed remainder. Above $25,000 almost all prices end in

hundreds, and most of those are whole $1,000 multiples. The hundreds digit itself lands on 0 or 5 for about

63% of all listings: the $14,000s and $14,500s of this market vastly outnumber its

$14,300s.

The charm ending is absent

Western retail pricing psychology — $9,999 instead of $10,000 — has essentially no

foothold here. Prices whose last two digits are 90–99 make up 1.0% of the budget

band and 0.4% of the premium band; endings in the last ten dollars before a round

thousand (…$990–999) never exceed 0.4% anywhere. The observed advertised prices

favor a simple round figure.

In a market where 97% of mid-band prices are hundreds, the $12,350 ask is an observed

exception to the dominant pattern.

Rounding among uncleared and cleared listings

Listings still awaiting customs clearance show a slightly lower whole-thousand share

than listings that have cleared: 31.6% versus 35.3%. The charm-ending share is

nearly identical at 0.7% versus 0.5%, leaving a small observed difference in the

way prices end across the two groups.

Reading the pattern

Price endings describe how advertised numbers are presented, while the underlying

asking price level and sale outcome are separate questions. The pattern aggregates

thousands of asking prices from the 23 August 2026 advertised stock.
