A smaller flow than September, well above August

Georgia’s 22–28 October window contained 1,474 new passenger-car advertisements, against 1,512 on the same September dates. The decline was 2.5%. October remained above August’s 1,345, the smallest count in the March–October comparison.

The series reached 1,988 advertisements in June. October was below that peak and the April and May windows, while remaining close to September. The change at the end of October was modest beside the distance from the summer high.

Shares of offers below $10,000 and at or above $25,000; 22–28 each month.

Both ends of the price range gained share

The median asking price eased from $14,800 in September to $14,500 in October, a $300 difference. Offers below $10,000 increased from 373 to 418, taking their share from 24.7% to 28.4%.

The upper end also gained ground: 356 offers were priced at $25,000 or more, or 24.2%, against 23.0% in September. A larger budget share therefore accompanied a larger premium share. The mix gave more weight to both low and high asking-price bands.

A newer model year, with higher stated mileage

Of the October offers, 712 awaited customs clearance, a 48.3% share. September’s corresponding share was 47.8%. Clearance remained close to an even split while the median model year moved from 2020 to 2021.

The median advertised mileage rose from 84,900 km to 89,000 km. The newer model-year midpoint consequently came with a higher mileage midpoint. Buyers choosing between those two attributes still need to compare the actual vehicle’s service record and equipment.

The wider offer opens at the same price midpoint

On 1 November, the wider offer contained 18,027 passenger-car offers, also with a $14,500 median ask. Its median model year was 2020, median stated mileage 93,000 km, and 53.4% awaited clearance.

The late-October arrivals and the wider offer met at the same price midpoint, but the arrivals had a newer model-year midpoint and lower stated mileage. That makes the date of an offer a useful starting point when comparing the choices around this budget.
