A KZT10m Georgia-to-Kazakhstan Budget Leaves Little Room for Engine Size

A buyer with KZT10m faces several large costs alongside the vehicle price. For an ordinary petrol passenger car more than five years old, the EAEU personal-use schedule applies a fixed euro-per-cubic-centimetre rate. Registration and utilization charges then add large fixed amounts in Kazakhstan.

The worked case is an individual importing a left-hand-drive petrol passenger car for personal use in Almaty. The examples have a stated 2020 model year and a 1.4-litre engine. The scenario assumes a vehicle older than five years and uses a rounded 1,400 cc planning capacity; the manufacture date and exact displacement must be confirmed in the vehicle documents.

Under that case, the customs line is:

1,400 cc × €3.20 per cc × 530.52 KZT/€ = KZT2,376,730.

The rate comes from Table 2 of EEC Decision 107, Appendix 2, while the Kazakhstan Revenue Committee's personal-use guidance directs personal-use vehicle imports through a passenger customs declaration and aggregate customs payment.

The 2026 MRP is KZT4,325, according to the official government reference. Kazakhstan's registration guidance lists the 500-MRP first-registration charge for non-electric M1 cars older than three years, plus 1.25 MRP for the certificate and 2.8 MRP for standard plates. The utilization methodology, with the schedule in Order No. 54 of 20 March 2026, applies a 50-MRP base and a 3.5 coefficient to this 1,001–2,000 cc car imported from Georgia: 175 MRP.

The KZT100,000 line is an assumed planning reserve for certification, EPTS and inspection. Replace it with written service quotes for the chosen vehicle.

KazTransCargo posts a light-passenger-car starting price of $1,700 for Georgia–Kazakhstan transport. Its page separately lists approximately $200 for re-export documents and $200 for Poti–Rustavi movement. The examples are in Tbilisi, so the second $200 is retained as a conservative local-movement allowance, subject to a route-specific quote.

A second public route page provides a useful cross-check: Cargo Rapido lists Tbilisi–Almaty at 10–14 days, with open transport from $1,000 and closed transport from $1,800. Its service description says insurance and customs documentation are included. The two pages start from different points and describe different inclusions, so a posted starting price is a planning input rather than a binding offer.

The scenarios use the $1,700 carriage figure and a $400 allowance for documents and local movement. Before committing, obtain a written quote stating the handover point, destination, loading method, insurance, route documents, storage and validity date.

The $12,000 Jetta example leaves approximately KZT3.15m below the KZT15m ceiling after the modeled lines. That headroom provides room for vehicle-specific repairs or revised service quotes once the car's condition and documents have been checked.

Engine size still matters. The EEC schedule moves the older-than-five-year rate from €3.20/cc in the 1,001–1,500 cc band to €3.50/cc in the 1,501–1,800 cc band and €4.80/cc in the 1,801–2,300 cc band. A larger engine can therefore consume the apparent KZT15m cushion even when the advertised purchase price looks similar.

Before paying a deposit, confirm the VIN documents, exact displacement, manufacture date, personal-use eligibility, customs value, and the applicable utilization and registration categories. Ask the carrier for a route-specific written price and ask the certification provider for documentary charges. Re-run the calculation with those figures and the destination authority's assessment rather than treating the advertised price as a delivered total.
