Commercial EVs Barely Appear in Georgia's Classifieds — New Fleet Projects Could Change That
Two business announcements suggest that Georgian companies are beginning to test electric vehicles in commercial use. AutoBridge data shows how early the secondary market remains: 1,115 electric passenger-car listings have appeared since March, while a manual review found only a single-digit number of plausible electric vans and light commercial vehicles across the platform's entire history. This is a finding about classified listings, not a count of Georgia's registered fleet.
Two announcements, but limited confirmed detail
Two business announcements were reported in July 2026, but AutoBridge could not locate an independent primary source for either and treats both as company statements. The first is a memorandum between Georgia Healthcare Group and Solar Auto; as reported, no vehicle count, models or implementation dates were disclosed. The second is the reported introduction of Farizon commercial electric vehicles through Geely Center Tegeta, including a ten-vehicle operating-lease project for the distributor Foodservice.
Several details of these announcements are not confirmed in the available reports:
- the exact organisations involved;
- the vehicle models and quantities;
- whether the vehicles have already been delivered or only ordered;
- the intended use of the vehicles;
- the charging and service arrangements;
- the lease duration and commercial structure;
- the start date of operations.
The available announcements do not establish that hospital transport or ambulance services are being converted to electric vehicles. Similarly, the ten-vehicle Farizon project should remain attributed to the announcing companies until delivery and operation are independently confirmed.
What the AutoBridge data actually measures
Under the standard passenger-car filter, AutoBridge recorded 1,115 electric passenger-car listings between 1 March and 14 July 2026. Their median asking price was $16,250.
This number describes advertisements appearing in the dataset. It does not represent:
- 1,115 unique buyers;
- 1,115 completed transactions;
- 1,115 newly registered electric vehicles;
- the total number of EVs operating in Georgia;
- the size of the corporate EV fleet.
Duplicate listings, relistings and the same vehicle appearing through different sources may affect the total.
The number of listings and their median asking price also do not, by themselves, prove that the passenger-EV market is liquid. Liquidity would require additional measures such as time to removal, price changes, removal rates and evidence that removed listings correspond to transactions.
Why "six commercial EVs" is too precise
The commercial-vehicle category contained 11,997 publicly visible listings. Of those, 72 were tagged with electric fuel. A manual review showed that most of the 72 rows were not road-going electric vans or trucks; they included:
- forklifts;
- tractors;
- concrete pumps;
- construction machinery;
- agricultural equipment;
- placeholder or poorly classified makes and models.
Nine of the 72 rows had prices below $1,000, including zero-price or placeholder entries. Only six of the 72 had been listed since 1 March. The manually reviewed commercial category contained several plausible road-going candidates, including a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or eSprinter listing, a Nissan NV200, a Mitsubishi Minicab, two Cenntro Metro mini-trucks, and several additional uncertain or unusually classified vehicles.
A separate review of passenger-car rows with van, minibus, truck or pickup body labels found additional possible candidates, including a Nissan e-NV200 and a Toyota Pixis Van. It also found obvious classification errors, such as a Porsche Taycan labelled as a minibus.
Depending on which uncertain records are included, the defensible estimate is approximately six to nine plausible electric vans or light commercial vehicles across the platform's entire history. This is not a precise market count — it is a manually curated range from a noisy classified-listing database.
What can be said about the example vehicles
Individual listings can illustrate how rare the category is, but they should not be treated as a statistical sample. Examples observed in the AutoBridge listing data include:
- a 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter listing with a $58,900 asking price, later archived;
- two Cenntro Metro mini-truck listings at approximately $7,000, later removed;
- a Nissan NV200 listed at $10,500;
- a Mitsubishi Minicab listed at $5,200;
- additional candidates whose electric classification or commercial status requires further verification.
An archived or removed listing should not be described as sold unless a completed transaction is independently confirmed. The asking price should not be presented as the transaction price.
What the absence does — and does not — mean
The data supports a limited conclusion: electric vans and light commercial vehicles are extremely rare in the classified sources observed by AutoBridge.
It does not prove that:
- only six commercial EVs exist in Georgia;
- all corporate EVs remain with their first owners;
- commercial electrification has not reached Georgia;
- no electric commercial vehicles operate outside public classified platforms;
- every vehicle tagged as non-electric is classified correctly.
Corporate fleets may purchase vehicles directly, use long-term leasing, retain them for many years or dispose of them through channels that never appear in the observed listings. The database therefore measures visibility in classified advertising, not the national commercial fleet.
Why the reported lease project matters
A ten-vehicle commercial lease, if confirmed and placed into operation, would be significant relative to the single-digit number of plausible used commercial-EV listings visible in the dataset. Its importance would not come from proving that electric vans are already economically superior — it would come from producing an operating cohort that could be evaluated under Georgian conditions.
The relevant questions include:
- How many vehicles were actually delivered?
- Which Farizon models and battery configurations are used?
- What routes and daily distances do they cover?
- What payloads do they carry?
- Where and when are they charged?
- How often are vehicles unavailable because of charging, maintenance or repairs?
- How much energy is consumed per kilometre and per delivered unit?
- How does performance change by season?
- How quickly are parts and service available?
- What is the total cost per kilometre compared with the vehicles they replaced?
A supplier statement that ownership costs may be three times lower is a marketing claim until its assumptions and Georgian operating results are disclosed.
What a serious fleet evaluation should measure
A credible evaluation should track, for vehicles doing comparable jobs:
- Vehicle availability — the share of planned working hours the vehicle is ready for use;
- Route completion — the share of assigned routes completed without unplanned charging, substitution or delay;
- Energy consumption — electricity used per kilometre, route, delivery or tonne of payload;
- Charging performance — location, duration, tariff, peak-demand cost and charger availability;
- Maintenance — scheduled-service cost, unscheduled repairs, downtime and parts lead time;
- Payload and range — real range under normal payload, traffic, weather and climate-control use;
- Driver and operator experience — training needs, reported problems and route-planning changes;
- Financial performance — lease payment, electricity, infrastructure, service, insurance, replacement vehicles and residual value.
The comparison should measure vehicles performing similar jobs rather than comparing an electric van with an unrelated combustion vehicle.
What to watch in the listing data
AutoBridge can repeat the same classified-listing review over time. Useful indicators include:
- the number of plausible electric vans and light commercial vehicles;
- the number of unique models and makes;
- the share with credible prices and complete specifications;
- the number of active and removed listings;
- the time from initial listing to removal;
- the frequency of duplicate or misclassified listings;
- the appearance of former corporate or leased vehicles;
- whether sellers provide battery-health, service and charging information.
The category will become suitable for statistical analysis only after the sample grows enough to support comparisons without exposing individual vehicles or producing unstable medians. A threshold should be defined in advance: for example, per-model price or turnover metrics should not be published with fewer than 30 credible and sufficiently comparable listings.
Current conclusion
The AutoBridge dataset shows a clear contrast:
- electric passenger cars are regularly visible in Georgian classified listings;
- electric vans and light commercial vehicles appear only in single-digit numbers after manual review;
- commercial-category data is heavily contaminated by industrial machinery and classification errors;
- the listing database cannot measure Georgia's complete corporate EV fleet;
- the reported fleet projects may create useful operating evidence, but their results do not yet exist.
The accurate finding is not that Georgia has six electric vans. It is that road-going commercial EVs are still extremely difficult to identify in the country's public classified market.
Methodology
Passenger-EV comparison: standard AutoBridge filter — passenger cars, publicly visible listings (not hidden by the seller), listed from 1 March 2026, asking price of at least $2,000, electric fuel type. Result: 1,115 listings, median asking price $16,250. These are listings, not unique vehicles, registrations or transactions.
Commercial review: the filter was expanded to the commercial category — all publicly visible commercial listings tagged electric, commercial listings priced at least $1,000, and electric passenger rows carrying van/minibus/truck/pickup body labels. Candidates were reviewed by make, model, body type, year, asking price, mileage, status and listing date; industrial equipment, obvious fuel-type errors, placeholder records and clear misclassifications were excluded where identifiable.
Removal status: an archived or removed listing is not automatically a completed sale, and an asking price is not a transaction price.
The review supports only an approximate range of six to nine plausible electric vans and light commercial vehicles across the full dataset; the range reflects classification uncertainty and should not be converted into an exact national count.
