Five months after Georgia's engine-volume excise, the advertised engine mix remains stable while small-engine listings have the higher uncleared share.

From 1 April 2026, Georgia's Tax Code applies the updated engine-volume excise
schedule, including GEL 4.5 per cubic centimetre for vehicles older than six years.
The monthly mix of new listings through August remains within a narrow range:
Half a year in, the small-engine share has moved two percentage points, and every
band has stayed within its observed lane. The advertised mix remains broadly stable
alongside the April excise schedule.

The advertised stock, split by engine size and clearance stage, has the following

Within the advertised stock, the uncleared share is higher in the small-engine band:
72.6% for ≤1.5 L versus 41.3% for >2.5 L. The small-engine rows have median year
2021 and median ask $10,000; the >2.5 L rows have median year 2018 and median ask
$23,500. These are cross-sectional differences within the 23 August reading.
The engine-band split can be read alongside the export map's young, mid-priced
advertised lane as two descriptive views of the market.
The next readings to watch
The mix uses listings that state an engine volume, and August is a partial month. The
small-engine share remains within the 13.3–16.3%
range observed from March through August. The monthly series remains the useful
signal as the excise schedule continues.
