A smaller, older diesel shortlist

The 25 October advertised stock contains 508 passenger cars identified as diesel, with a $9,800 median asking price and a 2015 median model year. The petrol group contains 8,593 cars, with a $13,000 median ask and a 2019 median model year.

The difference in vehicle age is central to the purchase question. A lower diesel asking-price midpoint comes with an older advertised mix. Buyers comparing a specific diesel with a specific petrol car should put model year, condition and maintenance history alongside the purchase price.

A product name changes the fuel comparison

Gulf’s latest dated board, effective 19 October, lists Euro Diesel at GEL4.99 per litre and G-Force Euro Diesel at GEL5.05. Its G-Force Euro Regular is GEL4.09. These are three named products, with distinct published prices. Gulf’s price board preserves those labels.

Netgazeti’s 21 October report describes further petrol increases of 5–7 tetri at part of the market between 19 and 21 October. For a personal budget, use the grade actually required and the price at the station you use; a general diesel headline can refer to a different product.

Equal litres illustrate the cash requirement

At the named Gulf board prices, a 50-litre purchase of Euro Diesel costs GEL249.50; the same quantity of G-Force Euro Regular costs GEL204.50. The GEL45 difference compares equal fuel quantities. A driving budget also needs the actual litres used over the buyer’s intended distance.

Keep fuel and vehicle costs in separate lines. The fuel line uses the required product, expected distance and a realistic consumption estimate. The vehicle line uses the negotiated purchase amount, inspection findings and priced maintenance work. This is especially useful when considering older diesel offers.

Inspect the individual car behind the midpoint

Among the diesel offers, 273 are advertised as cleared and 235 await clearance. The petrol group has 5,188 cleared cars. Clearance position adds another difference between the two advertised mixes and helps define the shortlist before travel or inspection.

Fuel type is stated for 12,892 of the 17,932 advertisements in the wider reading. The diesel profile here refers to the 508 offers explicitly identified as diesel. Ask the seller to confirm engine and fuel specification against the vehicle documents, then arrange an inspection appropriate to that engine. The useful decision combines purchase condition, clearance and fuel use for the exact car being considered.
