Cleared AWD Below $20,000: RAV4, Tucson and Subaru Offer Different Starting Points
Among 2018-and-newer offers, RAV4 has the largest group, Tucson the newest median model year, and Subaru a lower asking-price entry.
AWD leaves room below the budget ceiling
A $20,000 ceiling reaches a broad set of cleared AWD SUVs and crossovers from 2018 onwards. In the 1 November 2026 offer, the ten largest model groups together contain 229 advertisements.
The choices span Toyota, Hyundai, Subaru, Mazda, Jeep and Tesla. Their price and model-year midpoints differ substantially, so the useful starting point is the combination of age, stated mileage and powertrain that the buyer wants.

Subaru opens at a lower price midpoint
Subaru Crosstrek has 26 offers, a $11,100 median ask and a 2020 median model year. Forester has 22 offers, a $12,750 median ask and the same 2020 midpoint.
Their median stated mileages are 88,800 km for Crosstrek and 83,150 km for Forester. The lower price midpoints leave more space to the $20,000 ceiling than RAV4 or Tucson, before the costs of a particular vehicle’s inspection and preparation are assessed.

Jeep and an electric alternative widen the choice
The offer also includes 20 Jeep Cherokee advertisements at a $11,600 median ask, 20 Compass at $10,750, and 15 Renegade at $10,500. Median model years differ: Cherokee — 2019, Compass — 2019, Renegade — 2020.
An electric option appears among the ten largest groups: 14 Tesla Model Y offers, with a $18,250 median ask and a 2021 median model year. Hyundai Kona adds 17 offers, at $11,500 and 2020. Powertrain and charging arrangements deserve their own place in the purchase decision.
What the shortlist offers at different prices
For a buyer prioritising a newer model year, Tucson stands out in this set. For a lower asking-price starting point, Crosstrek and the Jeep groups offer several routes. RAV4 provides the largest number of advertised choices.
The final comparison belongs at vehicle level: tires, drivetrain operation, repair history and equipment can change the appeal of a specific offer. The figures are asking-price and stated-mileage readings from 1 November, for cleared AWD vehicles from 2018 onwards below $20,000.
