China’s car shipments to Georgia rose as the import map shifted
Geostat records higher Chinese motor-car units and lower Turkish units in January–September 2026; selected Chinese marques are visible in the current offer.
Motor-car imports by sending country
Published unit counts for China and Türkiye, January–September 2025 and 2026.
The unit count is the clearest signal
The country sections in Geostat’s 19 October preliminary release report 7,443 motor cars from China in January–September 2026, compared with 4,520 in January–September 2025. The value rose from $40.4108 million to $71.1036 million. The unit change is 64.7%, calculated from the published counts; the value change is 76.0%.
Türkiye’s line moved in the opposite direction: 1,313 cars in 2026 against 2,422 in 2025. Its value fell to $44.4563 million from $104.9287 million. The difference between unit and value changes matters: the source table describes shipments and customs values for the reported country lines.

Sending country is not the same as brand origin
The shipment table and the advertised market also describe different layers. A car can be shipped through a country, while its brand is registered elsewhere. In the 25 October AutoBridge offer, a selected list of Chinese marques contained 125 ads. Changan accounted for 54, BYD for 25, Geely for 10 and Zeekr for nine. This is a selected-name view of advertised cars.
The practical reading is straightforward. China is a more visible supply route in the current trade data, and selected Chinese marques are present in the offer. That combination gives buyers a reason to ask about warranty, parts, service coverage and delivery route before comparing sticker prices.
How to compare the current offer
Start with the exact model and year, then separate new or nearly new advertised cars from older imported stock. Check whether the asking price includes clearance, whether the car is already in Georgia, and whether the seller can provide a verifiable vehicle history. Keep the shipment country in the sourcing note and the marque in the vehicle note; they answer different questions.
Shipment country and brand origin are separate fields for a buyer’s comparison.
